GLDA'S PARTNERSHIP WITH EAGLE MOUNTAIN-SAGINAW ISD

In January 2020, Green Light Driving Academy announced a partnership agreement with Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. Green Light Driving Academy delivers driver education expertise & services to the parents and students of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.

The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District covers 73 square miles in the northwest corner of Tarrant County.  District enrollment is currently over 20,000 students and serves families in Saginaw, Blue Mound, portions of the City of Fort Worth, and unincorporated Tarrant County. Students are enrolled, enriched, and educated in three high schools, with a 4th being added in 2024. The district is considered a "fast-growth" district and is the eighth fastest growing school district in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas. By 2023, enrollment is projected to be over 24,000 students.

Green Light staff was joined by EMS-ISD's experienced staff of driving instructors and classroom educators. Green Light continues to offer traditional teen drivers education courses on EMS-ISD's high school campuses and has added an authorized DPS Road Test route and several other online services for the teens and adults living in the area.

Green Light Driving Academy is excited for the continued opportunities and looks forward to serving the students & parents in the Eagle Mountain - Saginaw ISD area.

Program Information

Teen driver education classes are open to teens age 14-18. According to Texas state law, Students may begin the classroom session at age 14, but Green Light Driving Academy recommends that student wait until 15 years old if possible. Students may not begin behind-the-wheel instruction until age 15. From an educational standpoint, separating the classroom portion from the behind-the-wheel instruction by several months creates a huge disconnect. GLDA instructors attempt to connect the classroom instruction with real world experiences and then take those connections and develop in-car habits and skills that last a lifetime. Additionally, some students are not ready for the maturity level of some of the subject matter of the course. (car crashes, drinking and drugs etc.)

When enrolling students, please keep in mind, students MUST attend two of the first three days. Students may not enroll after day three class.

EXCEPTIONS FOR PRICING

GLDA at times offers discounts or special tuition prices for students who have demonstrated a financial disadvantage. The discount could range from allowing for additional time to pay for the course to providing the course at “cost”.  This is a case by case basis and normally has been recommended by High School Counselors or some other person who has direct knowledge of the student’s financial need. In the past, GLDA has helped with the needs of Christmas “Angel Tree” programs to provide discounted or even free drivers education for those in need.  GLDA offers several payments plans that allow families to make payments to reduce the “sticker shock” of the driver’s education program. Green Light Driving Academy makes every effort to make our program available to all students.
