GLDA's PROGRAM

Once your family has decided that online classroom & instructor led driving is the best fit for your family:


  1. Click on any of the action buttons located on this page..
  2. Fill out & submit the enrollment contract & submit the required payment. 
  3. A Green Light Driving Academy staff member will contact you within 24-48 hours (excluding Sundays & holidays)  will provide you with  instructions on how to log in to the website to begin the classroom instruction.


Please keep in mind the following items:

  • Cost: $450.00
  • Course requirement: 32 hrs of classroom instruction &44 hrs of driving instruction (14 hrs with GLDA instructors, 30 hrs with parents)
  • GLDA recommends that parents attend a free Parent Orientation.
  • Enrollment contract deadline is one year from the date enrollment contract & payment is receive by the GLDA office staff.

CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

  • The classroom instruction will be completed online with our partners at Aceable.  
  • If there are any technical issues, please contact the ACEABLE HELP CENTER help center. 
  • GLDA staff will provide the log in instructions once the enrollment contract & payment are received.
  • Upon successful completion  of the first 6 hrs of the online curriculum (content/coursework), Aceable will issue a DE-964 certificate allowing the student to obtain the learner's permit from a DPS office.
  • DE-964 certificates will be emailed to the  email address provided to Aceable
  • The Learner's Permit may be obtained at a DPS office when:

  1. DE-964 cert. is received
  2. the student is at least 15 yrs old

                   HOW TO OBTAIN INSTRUCTION PERMIT

  • Upon completion of the online instruction classroom instruction, a second DE-964 certificate will be emailed .That certificate must be submitted to the GLDA office.
  • Optional- the student may attend the 3-day Drug & Alcohol Driving Awareness class at any GLDA location, at no extra cost. Upon successful completion of the DADAP course a certificate will be issued, when submitted to the family's auto insurance provider. The course may provide 5% discount on auto insurance insurance premiums. Not all insurance companies honor this discount.                 Check with auto insurance company for discount availability.

DRIVING INSTRUCTION

  • GLDA office staff must receive a copy of the student's permit  before the 14 hours of in-car instruction with GLDA instructors may begin.  
  • Drive lessons with GLDA instructors are schedule online line using the Schedule2Drive.com scheduling system
  • The 30 hours of driving with parents can be done anytime AFTER the student has obtained the learner's permit 
  • Parent driving are recorded on the Schedule2Drive.com system.

COMPLETING THE COURSE

  • ALL INSTRUCTION, online classroom & behind-the-wheel, must be completed before the contract period expires. If not completed by that deadline, the student will loose credit for unfinished portions of the course.
  • Once all instruction, online classroom, in-car with GLDA instructors & 30 hrs documented with parents, a completion certificate from Aceable), the student will be eligible to take the DPS Road Test with GLDA.
