OPTION 1
Traditional ZOOM classroom & In-Car instruction –
*required by the State of Texas for a teen to obtain driver’s license.*
- *32 hrs classroom instruction* provided in real time via by GLDA ZOOM instructor
- *14 hrs in-car instruction* 7 hrs Behind-the-Wheel (B-T-W) instruction & 7 hrs observation A progress report and/or letter is provided following each driving lessons detailing progress & outlining suggestions for parents B-T-W practice at home.
- *30 hours practice at home* documented with parent or another adult
- Parent Orientation (PDF) emailed with: permit requirements, make-up classes, driving instructions & scheduling, license requirements & testing, and insurance.
- Administration of Permit Tests - 3rd day of class - DE-964 (FOR LEARNER LICENSE) issued 2nd week of class, Permit documentation packet provided with detailed instructions on obtaining the learners permit.
- Classroom make-up sessions included.(Texas law requires made-up sessions for absences)
- Additional Service -authorized DPS Road Test review & preparation.

- $525.00 - Grapevine, Roanoke, Coppell & Boyd
- $500.00 - Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD locations ** $50.00 fee for students that attend EMS-ISD locations that are not EMS-ISD students
OPTION 2
Online classroom instruction & In-car instruction
*Texas requirement for a teen to obtain driver’s license*
- Same as Option 1. (online classroom allows self paced flexibility -

Option 3
Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Only - *classroom portion at home with parents & driving completed with GLDA instructors.
- 14 hrs in-car instruction (7 hours B-T-W instruction & 7 hours observation)- parents/students receive a progress report and/or letter details progress & outlining suggestions for parents for at home B-T-W practice after each B-T-W lesson.
Tuition:
- $500.00 - Grapevine, Roanoke, Coppell & Boyd
- $475.00 - Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD locations ** $50.00 fee for students that attend EMS-ISD locations that are not EMS-ISD students
OPTION 4
Classroom Instruction Only – traditional or online students complete the driving portion at home with parents via Parent Taught Driver Education- transfer to parent taught assisted by Green Light Driving Academy Staff. Included at NO additional cost:
- 32 hours classroom instruction- Same as Option 1.
- All classroom make-up sessions. (Texas law requires any classroom session missed MUST be made-up.) .

Parents may choose to teach their teen drivers education using a parent taught course. This can be a complicated & confusing process, especially if you don't know the "driver's education" lingo. Parents may choose to teach their teen drivers the behind-the-wheel portion of driver education using a parent taught behind-the-wheel course. This can be completed concurrently with the classroom portion of the course or after completion of the classroom.This can be a complicated & confusing process, especially if you don't know the "driver's education" lingo. We are here to help you through this complicated process.

There is a VERY strong possibility that the DFW area will receive a MAJOR winter storm between Friday & Sunday this week. GLDA is monitoring the weather forecast and how the conditions will affect drive lessons & Authorized DPS Road Tests.
A decision regarding GLDA's schedule will be made by NOON Thursday 1/22/26.
Any announcement of cancellations will be posted on our message boards, this website & phone voicemail. The safety of our students, staff & other roadway users is ALWAYS at the forefront of all decision making.

Upon completion of the driver education program, those students have obtained their Class C Texas driver's license by testing with GLDA's authorized DPS Road Test Examiners. This bundle combines the above services with Standard Premier Drive Lesson scheduling and an authorized DPS Road Test. By bundling these GLDA services, students gain valuable knowledge and parents cans save time and money at the same time.
