DPS Road Test

Green Light Driving Academy is certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety to administer the official DPS Road Test (Skills Test). All teens & adults are eligible to test at one of locations across the DFW area. Completing the DPS Road Test with GLDA, allows flexibility of testing after normal business hours & on weekends. (Schedule subject to availability)

Schedule a make-up class
GLDA Parents & Students;
If your student was absent for any of the traditional driver ed classroom sessions, the sessions will be made up in a future live ZOOM session. Please click on the button to the right to schedule a make-up session. If the date/time of the class you have chosen does not meet for any reason, GLDA office staff will notify you with the options for a different class date & time.

Additional Lessons
GLDA students that have completed the driver education program or others students needing extended behind-the-wheel practice may purchase additional lessons at the following rate:
- 1 – 9 extra driving hours $85.00 per hour
- 10 or more extra driving hours - $95.00 per hour
Information about the extra driving hour packages:
- External students will be added to the GLDA scheduling system (Schedule2Drive) & lessons will be scheduled by parent/student on the Schedule2Drive system. (There is a one time $14.95 registration fee paid to Schedule 2 Drive to use this system)
- GLDA students that have completed the full driver education course (32 hours of classroom & 7 hrs behind-the-wheel & 7 hrs. observation: the deadline on the original contract no longer applies.
- Hours can be used as parent log driving sessions
- Driving can be completed at any of our locations (Grapevine, Coppell, Roanoke, EMS-ISD or Boyd).
- Students must also do observation hours with all purchased additional lessons.
