Driver education Options

Online classroom instruction &  In-car instruction  

*Texas requirement for a teen to obtain driver’s license*

Tuition: 

•  $525.00 - Grapevine, Roanoke, Coppell & Boyd  
• $500.00 - Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD locations ** $50.00 fee for students that attend EMS-ISD locations that are not EMS-ISD students

Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Only -  *classroom portion at home with parents &  driving completed with GLDA instructors. 

1.  14 hrs in-car instruction (7 hours B-T-W instruction & 7 hours observation)- parents/students receive a progress report and/or letter details progress & outlining suggestions for parents for at home B-T-W practice after each B-T-W lesson.

Classroom Instruction Only – traditional or online students complete the driving portion at home with parents via Parent Taught Driver Education- transfer to parent taught assisted by Green Light Driving Academy Staff. Included at NO additional cost: 

1. 32 hours classroom instruction- Same as Option 1.
2. All classroom make-up sessions. (Texas law requires any classroom session missed MUST be made-up.) .

Parents may choose to teach their teen drivers education using a parent taught course. This can be a complicated & confusing process, especially if you don't know the "driver's education" lingo. We are here to help you through this complicated process.  Click on the button below for more information.

 $100.00 - Parent Taught Program 

(no GLDA instruction) 

Parents may choose to teach their teen drivers the behind-the-wheel portion of driver education using a parent taught behind-the-wheel course. This can be completed concurrently with the classroom portion of the course or after completion of the classroom.This can be a complicated & confusing process, especially if you don't know the "driver's education" lingo. We are here to help you through this complicated process.

NOTE: For ALL (online & in person) credit card / debit card transactions, a 3% convenience fee will be assessed.  (Convenience fees are not refundable. NO EXCEPTIONS)

GLDA DOES NOT accept money orders, traveler's checks, or third party checks as a form of payment.

If entire driver education course is not completed by the contract deadline, a contract extension can be purchased. Must be paid for BEFORE DEADLINE.

Re-Contracting Fee:

If the enrollment contract expires, a re-contracting extension can be purchased to extend the contract for one year.  Must be purchased within 1 month (30 days) of the original course deadline.

Teen students that wish to take extra driving lessons whether or not they took driver education with Green Light Driving Academy.

• 1 - 9 hrs: $100 per hr
• 10+ hrs: $85 per hr

Important additional info:

1. GLDA- Student - Must have completed Phase II (7 required hours) 

2. May be used as parent log driving hours

3. Available at all GLDA locations

4. Observation hour required with each drive lesson

5. Specific instruction may be requested (city driving, parking, freeway driving, etc.)

6. Original contract deadline does not apply.
